Zvjezdan Misimovic, the most capped Bosnian player in history, has announced his retirement from the national team today.
After Senijad Ibricic and Emir Spahic, Misimovic became the third Bosnian to announce his retirement from international football this summer at the age of 32.
One of the most beloved characters of our national team for the past decade, "Miske" was a maestro on the pitch. An attacking midfielder, Zvjezdan played many through balls that only world class players could think of. Not only that, he also formed a fantastic bond with our number one scorer Edin Dzeko, going back from their playing days together in Wolfsburg.
After 10 long years, 83 caps, and 25 goals later, the legendary Misimovic talked about how he feels after announcing his retirement.
"We have a fantastic team and shouldn't have any problems in these next qualifiers despite all the retirements. I will be a huge fan and I'm sure the boys will have no problem qualifying as one of the best teams in Europe," Miske said.
Misimovic was also quick to praise his successor, Miralem Pjanic.
"It was a pleasure to play with him, as it has to do with a brilliant player, who for the next 10 years can be a world class player," Misimovic finished off.
