After months of speculation, AS Roma have officially confirmed the signing of Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.

Despite the deal looking dead several times over the past few weeks, Roma officially announced today the long awaited signing of Edin Dzeko.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international has been training with the Giallorossi throughout this week, but the deal met a series of delays so it wasn't officially announced until today.

The deal was announced to be a 1 year loan for €4 million with a conditional purchase clause set at €11 million at the end of the season, meaning if certain criteria are met, Roma will be required to purchase the striker.

However, even if for some reason Dzeko doesn't meet the criteria, there is no doubt Roma will exercise the purchase option regardless, as at this price, Dzeko comes in at a steal.

Eager for a new start, Dzeko made it no secret to Manchester City officials of his desire to join the Italian side earlier this summer, where he would join his fellow international teammate Miralem Pjanic in an attempt to bring the Scudetto back to Rome.

"AS Roma are delighted to confirm the signing of Bosnian international Edin Dzeko from Manchester City,” the Giallorossi confirmed on their official website.

"The 29-year-old striker put pen to paper on a contract with the Giallorossi today after successfully completing his medical in Italy.

"Dzeko has been one of the most sought after forwards in Europe this summer after he made it clear he was ready for a new challenge after a four-year stay in the English Premier League."

Dzeko is now free to make his Roma debut in Friday’s friendly against Sevilla. The player will be presented to fans and media Thursday.
Turkish club Fenerbahce are now reportedly targeting out of favour Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.

Turkish media are now reporting that Fenerbahce, who sit 1st in the Super Lig, are preparing a € 15 million bid for the Bosnian.

This report comes amidst other reports that the Turkish club is looking to part ways with struggling striker Emmanuel Emenike.

As for Dzeko, who has recently come back from a month long injury, it has yet to be seen whether or not he can regain his form from last season. However, with the recent addition of forward Wilfred Bony, it is evident that Dzeko has been pushed backed to a second tier striker for the English side.

Just before this season, Dzeko, who's old deal would have expired this summer, signed a new 4 year deal that would keep him in Manchester until 2018. However, with a first half of the season marred by inconsistent play and injuries, it is apparent that Manchester City would be willing to part ways with the Bosnian should the right offer come around.

In 120 Premier League appearances for Manchester City these past 5 years, Dzeko has scored 48 goals and tallied 22 assists, all while getting very sparse playing time.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-74669534434677988682015-01-27T15:17:00.001-08:002015-01-27T15:17:07.227-08:00Bosnia loses in final match at World Championships

The Bosnian national handball team finished 20th at the 2015 Handball World Championships after today's 28:42 loss to a strong Russian side.

During the first 8 minutes of the game, both teams kept trading goals and the biggest lead either team had was only 1 goal.

Then, Russia ended up reaching its' first 2 goal lead of the game (6:8), which Bosnia answered with 3 straight goals to give themselves a 9:8 lead.

However, it was in the last 10 minutes of our half that our defense completely fell apart, as Russia scored 10 goals in that span to give themselves a 16:20 lead. Once again, our team looked like they had already checked out from this World Cup after that devastating loss against Tunisia.

When the second half got underway, Bosnia looked like it may actually make this a close game until the end, as Ivan Karacic scored 2 straight goals. The Russians, however, had other plans as they managed to maintain a two or three goal advantage by capitalizing on our many errors on offense.

It was 10 minutes into the 2nd half that the Russians earned their first five goal lead of the game (20:25), and then never looked back. Our team had evidently already thrown in the towel, as 5 minutes later the Russian lead was stretched to 9 goals (21:30).

Even though Dragan Markovic tried to gather his men at this point with a time-out, it came to no avail as the Russian counter attacks simply kept mounting. The end of the game was relatively quiet, with both teams ready to go home after the result already seemed set, as it ended with a 28:42 scoreline.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-39972444231054335612015-01-26T12:31:00.001-08:002015-01-26T12:31:54.041-08:00Bosnian handball team earns new loss

After being eliminated from the main tournament field in the Handball World Championship by finishing 5th in their group, Bosnia earned a new loss in the battle for 17th-20th place teams, this time against a tough Belarus.

After a close intro to the game, Bosnia ended up pulling away slightly, leading by 2 goals at one point. However, for the rest of the first half, it was all Belarus as they dominated us both offensively and defensively.

Perhaps in part due to all of the emotional troubles they went through this past week, Bosnia was not on its' game today, as they were down 16:20 at halftime.

After halftime, Belarus only continued to extend their lead, soon building that lead up to 7 goals midway through the 2nd half. Bosnia simply could get nothing going offensively, and defensively, they had no answer for Siarhei Rutenka, who finished the game with 9 goals. Senjamin Buric, on the other hand, led Bosnia with 6 goals.

Throughout the whole game, the Belorussians kept capitalizing on our turnovers, and also used the size advantage they had in the block against us.

Following several more goals and a few more fantastic saves from their goalkeeper Ivan Matskevich, Belarus coasted to victory at the end of the game, with the final scoreline being 29:37.

Bosnia's final match at the 2015 Handball World Championship will be in a battle for 19th place against Russia, who were last beat by the Czech Republic this afternoon.
After months of paperwork, Mario Vrancic is now officially eligible for a call up to the Bosnian national team after receiving his Bosnian citizenship today.

Vrancic, who was born in Croatia and raised in Germany, was eligible for Bosnia due to his parents originating from there.

Due to FIFA rules, however, Vrancic was not eligible to play for Bosnia before submitting the right paperwork. After that, which could take a while to gather, it went through a judging process where FIFA determined if he was in fact eligible to play for Bosnia.

This process of switching sports nationalities is nothing new to Bosnia, who have a habit of recruiting players from the Diaspora that were raised in other countries.

Vrancic, who is a defensive minded midfielder and who plays for Bundesliga side Paderborn, would make an excellent addition to our already crowded midfield, even if only for depth reasons. As Bosnia has learned the hard way, you can never have too much depth due to injuries and other factors.

Mario will most likely be called up by new coach Mehmed Bazdarevic as soon as Bosnia's next matches against Andorra and Austria at the end of March.

For the friendly against Austria, Mario could very easily earn a start next to fellow central midfielders Muhamed Besic and Miralem Pjanic as Bazdarevic tries to find the formation that will work best for him.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina handball team lost tonight in Doha as part of the last round of the group stage of the World Cup, as it was defeated by Croatia with a final result of 21:28.

With no chance for Bosnia to advance to the next round before the game even started, it was evident that Dragan Markovic's men were emotionally exhausted and were not playing their A game.

After the devastating loss 2 days ago to Tunisia, the Bosnians struggled to find any motivation to play, as they were down 8:17 at halftime. The largest lead the Croatians held during the game was an 11 goal lead.

In the second half, both teams began playing many of the reserves, with our boys just edging out the second half scoreline 13:11 for a final score of 21:28.

In a related topic, both Karacic brothers, Ivan (Bosnia-Herzegovina) and Igor (Croatia), faced off for the first time in an international tournament, with the younger brother Igor coming out on top on this occasion.

However, this game doesn't spell the end of Bosnia at this World Championship, as there will be a mini tournament determining the 17th-20th place teams, with Bosnia set to play Belarus next.

Until then, you can enjoy this fantastic goal scored by our reserves as Muhamed Zulfic passes to Josip Peric.
In what was a must win game for both national teams, it was Bosnia that ended up on the short end of the stick, as it earned its' third loss of the tournament to Tunisia, and was officially eliminated from it as a result.

With a final score of 24:27, Bosnia has now gone with a record of 1 win & 3 losses in 4 games, with only one game left against Croatia. Since only the top 4 teams make it out of the group, it is statically impossible for Bosnia to advance to the knockout stage.

An incredible game for all 60 minutes, there were many lead changes throughout, At some moments, it looked as though Tunisia had the game in the bag, only for Bosnia to come back with vengeance and then look like they were the ones that were going to be the victors.

In what was yet again another slow start for the Bosnians, Tunisia started off the game with a 1:4 lead, with Bosnia quickly regaining focus this time and then cutting that lead to 5:6.

The rest of the first half went that way, with both teams trading goals constantly and Bosnia only taking the lead once. Even though it looked like we were going to go into halftime with a 14:14 tie, Tunisia stole a goal with 10 seconds left with a belter from the left back, and took a 14:15 lead going into the break.

As the second half got under way, it became apparent that the Portugese referees were not on Bosnia's side. Even though both teams were playing relatively rough defense, it seemed as though only the Bosnians were the ones being punished with 7 meter penalties and 2 minute suspensions.

Regardless of this, Bosnia persevered and had a 24:22 lead with 6 minutes left in the game. However, it was at this point that the officiating become unbearable. In a span of 30 seconds, the referees handed out 2 minute suspensions to two players on two different plays, one of which was a very soft foul, the other of which there was almost no contact.

After this unfortunate series of events, there was no looking back for the Tunisians, as they scored 4 straight to take a 2 goal lead with 1 minute left.

Regardless, even though we all might feel as though Bosnia could have done more in this tournament, this team achieved success by qualifying for its' first tournament and paving the way for future generations to do the same.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-81728889374452414032015-01-20T13:23:00.001-08:002015-01-26T12:33:05.487-08:00Bazdarevic eyes young defender Dario Dumic

Dario Dumic, a 22 year old centre back for Brondby in Denmark, has been playing fantastic lately in a stopper duo with Daniel Agger, and is now on the radar for new Bosnian manager Mehmed Bazdarevic.

Bazdarevic, who, unlike his predecessor, is now looking to re-youthanize the national team, is reportedly interested in the young Dumic, who was born in Sarajevo before moving Denmark at a young age.

Dumic, who has made it no secret of his desire to play for the national team, has represented Denmark in nearly all of its' youth teams, with his last appearance being in 2012.

Mehmed Bazdarevic now plans to travel to Denmark and personally scout the potential Bosnian national team player in person. With many retirements and injuries plaguing Bosnia's defense in recent months, this can only benefit our national team at the end of the day.

Dumic, who was also under contract with English side Norwich City for the 2009-10 season, has started 13 games so far this season for Brondby, who sit firmly in 4th place in the Danish Superliga.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-57943588035151288622015-01-19T18:42:00.003-08:002015-01-19T18:44:37.951-08:00Bosnia loses to Macedonia

The Bosnian handball team was unable to come back from a large opening deficit and earned their 2nd loss in 3 games in the 2015 World Handball Championships in Qatar.

The stagnant offense from the last game against Austria reared its' ugly head yet again for Bosnia, as they went a full 4 minutes without scoring a goal.

With a 1:6 deficit to climb after their slow start, the Bosnians came themselves a very large hole to climb out of against a strong Macedonian side.

During the end of the second half, Bosnia gathered itself and got back into the game, with the score being 11:13 for Macedonia at halftime.

Despite playing relatively better in the second half and being level with Macedonia several times, Dragan Markovic's men were still prone to errors and could not get over the hump. These errors ultimately cost the Bosnians, as Macedonia made them pay on their many turnovers.

In the end, Macedonia won with a scoreline of 22:25, and have now qualified for the knockout round, while Bosnia still sit firmly in 4th place with 2 points.

Bosnia's next match is against Tunisia on Wednesday, and, if they were to win this match, would qualify for the knockout stage.
The Bosnian Diamond has finally returned to action after being sidelined for nearly 2 months due to a calf strain.

After playing only 4 minutes in the match against QPR in November, Edin Dzeko limped off the field in what many feared could be a serious injury.

Perhaps not as severe as people had thought, Dzeko was then diagnosed with a calf strain, for which he was expected to miss at least 4 weeks. And now, nearly two months after that diagnosis, the Manchester City striker finally made his much anticipated return against Arsenal.

Dzeko, who was subbed on in the 76th minute for Jesus Navas, was unable to save City from its' first loss since November 5th of last year. Dzeko was also very clearly rusty after sitting out so long, and will need a few more matches under his belt to regain his old form.

With Bosnia's next Euro qualifying match against Andorra coming in just over two months, the return of Dzeko will very much please the Bosnian faithful, after missing their last game against Israel. That game, which ended in an embarrassing loss for Bosnia, was no doubt impacted by Dzeko's absence in the end result.

Manchester City's next competitive match will be against Middlesborough in the FA Cup, as the Bosnian captain could no doubt see plenty of playing time in that game.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-81259171998621808742015-01-17T19:24:00.000-08:002015-01-21T19:47:50.918-08:00Bosnia falls to Austria in Qatar

Bosnia lost to a very tough Austrian side tonight in Qatar, earning its' first loss in the 2015 Handball World Championships.

Despite holding a 12:11 lead at halftime, Bosnia fell to Austria 21:23 this afternoon to earn its' first loss in a Handball World Champioship.

The game overall was sloppy from both sides, with the final result reflecting this as it was a low scoring affair. In the end, it ended up being a goalkeeper battle that decided things, with a fantastic effort from Austrian keeper Nikola Marinovic besting Bosnia's Benjamin Buric's 10 saves.

Bosnia came out relatively slow in the beginning of the game, with both teams trading goals for the most part of the first half. Despite a slow start, the Bosnians led by one goal at halftime thanks to several 7 meter penalties and a sloppy start from the Austrians.

However, unlike yesterday against Iran, Bosnia did not come out with authority into the second half. They dropped 5 straight after being tied 14:14, so with 15 minutes left in the game the Bosnians were down 14:19.

Despite a valiant effort during the last 5 minutes of the game where Bosnia scored a flurry of goals along a sleeping Austrian defense, the deficit ended up being too large to overcome.

Bosnia now sit firmly in 4th place in their group, tied in points with Austria but losing the tie-break due to dropping today's game. Bosnia will play Macedonia on Monday in what will be a key game if Dragan Markovic's men hope to go far in the tournament.
The Bosnian handball team defeated Iran 30-25 today in its' first ever Handball World Championship match in Qatar.

Bosnia was led by a great team effort, which included 6 goals by Dusko Celica, followed by 4 a piece from Ivan Karacic and Alen Ovcina.

Iran took the lead 50 seconds into the game, only for Bosnia to tie it up and score its' first ever goal at a World Cup thanks to leading goalscorer Dusko Celica.

Afterwards, right back Faruk Vrazalic gave Bosnia its' first ever lead, and the teams traded goals until the 20th minute when Iran took a 7:9 lead.

With 10 minutes left until halftime, Dragan Markovic's men began making many mistakes, which led to a 4 goal deficit to a weaker Iran side (12:16). The team was very much in need of a halftime talk from Dragan Markovic to gather their nerves. And it definitely worked.

Bosnia scored 7 unanswered goals coming out into the 2nd half, giving themselves a 19:17 lead 10 minutes in. After that, there was no looking back for the Bosnians, who were also helped by the fantastic efforts of goalkeeper Benjamin Buric, who tallied 8 saves.

Bosnia will now play a much tougher Austrian side tomorrow night, and with the debut jitters out of the way, we can all expect a much better showing to start off the game as the 2015 Handball World Championship continues.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-75358263802154826342015-01-15T14:45:00.003-08:002015-01-15T14:45:39.373-08:00Kvrzic to continue playing career in Italy

Occasional Bosnian international Zoran Kvrzic is set to continue his playing career in Italy, playing for Serie B side Spezia Calcio.

Kvrzic revealed today that Spezia have made a move for him, bringing in the 26 year old winger on a year end loan.

Kvrzic also revealed today that in the case that Spezia do qualify at the end of the year, the move will be made permanent. Spezia currently sit 4th in Serie B, on pace to play in the promotion play-offs.

So far this season, Kvrzic has made 29 appearances for his club Rijeka, which includes 17 HNL & 12 Europa League games. In those games, the Bosnian winger has a total of 4 goals and 6 assists.

Kvrzic also has 1 cap for the Bosnian national team to his name this season, as he played all 90 minutes in the fateful game against Israel late last year. It has yet to be seen whether or not the now Serie B player will be featured in new Bosnia coach Bazdarevic's roster.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-79201138057589284782015-01-14T16:47:00.003-08:002015-01-14T16:47:28.797-08:00Arslanagic still undecided on national team

The young central defender has responded to inquiries about what national team he will play for, claiming he has yet to make up his mind.

Dino Arslanagic, who has represented nearly every Belgian youth national team, talked with Belgian media this afternoon about the possibility of playing for Bosnia in the future.

"For now, I won't play for either national team," the 21 year old stated. "I just want to focus on playing well for my club for the rest of the season, so we'll see what happens later on."

Arslanagic, who's parents originally hail from Bosnia, has been on Bosnia's radar for some time now. Last year, Dino, along with fellow Standard Liege teammate Deni Milosevic, were invited as guests for Bosnia's friendly in Innsbruck. Arslanagic, due to obligations for his club, was unable to make it, with his father Orhan making it instead.

Because his son couldn't be guaranteed a spot on the national team for the World Cup by then manager Safet Susic, Orhan went home without a guarantee that his son would play for Bosnia in the future. Instead, it is evident that Dino felt hurt by Susic's lack of interest, and talks have cooled off since.

This week, Bosnia's new manager Mehmed Bazdarevic announced that he has scheduled a meeting with both young Standard Liege players, Dino and Deni, in hopes of guiding the two to eventually choosing Bosnia.

While Deni Milosevic has yet to officially decide on a national team, his father Cvijan stated earlier in the week that his son's mind is pretty much made up, and that his heart only yearns for Bosnia. Belgian media also reported today that Milosevic already started the process of switching FIFA nationalities some time ago, but nothing is official yet.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-12227316894916714682015-01-13T16:54:00.003-08:002015-01-13T19:11:07.127-08:00Bazdarevic plans to meet with every national team player

Mehmed Bazdarevic plans to meet with Bosnian internationals Edin Dzeko and Asmir Begovic this week during his visit to England, before continuing on a continental trip across Europe.

Bazdarevic, who continues his behind the scenes work for the Bosnian national team, is visiting England this week for the first stop in his tour across Europe, where he plans to personally introduce himself to every national team player.

This week, he will meet with Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko and Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, who both play in the Premier League. Muhamed Besic, on the other hand, who also plays in England as a midfielder for Everton, won't be able to meet the new Bosnian coach this week because of obligations with Everton.

Bazdarevic also announced that his next stop after England is Belgium, where one of his meetings is scheduled to be with potential Bosnian international Dino Arslanagic, who currently plays in Belgium's youth teams. Arslanagic, who has yet to decide between Belgium and Bosnia, could easily be persuaded should Mehmed offer him a role in his new squad.

In the month since being named Bosnia's new coach, Bazdarevic has already shown he is more than motivated enough to take on his new role. This is evidenced by his completion of several small behind the scenes missions, including the scouting trip in Italy last week.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-54120689567068785402015-01-12T11:06:00.001-08:002015-01-12T11:08:46.462-08:00Bazdarevic & Gilli in Italy scouting potential national team players

This past week, Mehmed Bazdarevic and his top assistant Stephane Gilli were in attendance at several Serie A matches, as they scouted a couple of potential Bosnian national team players.

The players in question are Ervin Zukanovic and Ivan Martic, the former of whom was a regular national team player for Bosnia prior to the World Cup, before being dropped by Susic for unexplained reasons.

Martic, on the other hand, has yet to represent any national team, even though he is eligible to represent three, which include Croatia, Switzerland, and Bosnia, his country of birth. The 24 year old right back, who moved from Switzerland to Italian side Verona this past year, would make a very quality backup to Bosnia's full back problems, which include an oft injured Mujdza and a defensively liable Vrsajevic.

Per reports, Zukanovic has so far impressed both Bazdarevic and Gilli, so much so that they are very likely to call him up again for Bosnia's next match against Andorra. Zukanovic, who always put out very solid performances for Bosnia, would be a welcome sight to a Bosnian defense that has been hampered by injuries and retirements.

As for Martic, Bazdarevic is definitely said to be interested, but would have to talk with the Verona man first, seeing as he is eligible to represent two other countries. The meeting will occur sometime this week, where Bazdarevic and Gilli can get an even bigger feel for the young defender.

Another player in the Serie A that the two would definitely be interested in is young Milan midfielder Andrej Modic, who is on the verge of breaking into Milan's first team. Modic has so far represented Bosnia at the U-19 and U-21, and is surely not far from earning his first cap in the senior team.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-35461389233240369002015-01-09T08:27:00.001-08:002015-01-09T08:27:09.143-08:00Tino Susic set to join Inter

The groundwork for Tino Sven Susic to join Inter from Hajduk has reportedly been laid, as Susic is now set to join Inter come June.

Italian media are now reporting that an agreement has been reached between the Croatian side and the Italian side, but Tino will have to wait until June to join Inter.

The deal reached between the two clubs is reportedly a loan deal worth €1 million for the season, with a €4 million transfer option at the end of the season.

It is evident that Inter are willing to take their time with the 22 year old Susic, who has flashes of brilliance but is still very raw in many aspects of his game. Because of that, they are willing to let him stay in Croatia for the rest of the season, in hopes that he can continue to mature his game.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-83335476185434412402015-01-08T13:15:00.002-08:002015-01-08T13:18:04.794-08:00Pjanic turns down Liverpool offer

Miralem Pjanic has once again reiterated his desire to stay in the Italian capital, turning down a lucrative €4 million a year deal from English football club Liverpool.

The Bosnian midfielder has reportedly said no to struggling English side Liverpool, as he remains committed to the project at Roma.

Pjanic, who has made it no secret that he loves Roma and the fans, wants nothing more than to bring back the Scudetto to Rome.

Not only is he chasing the Scudetto this year, but Roma still remain in European competition in the Europa League after being knocked out of the Champions League.
With the Roma project in full swing and an all but guaranteed Champions League spot next year for Pjanic, there is no rush for the "Bosnian Prince" to leave Italy, even with many big name clubs after him.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-63490443553158729882015-01-08T13:08:00.002-08:002015-01-08T13:08:33.563-08:00Misimovic only wants to play in the Bundesliga

The most capped Bosnian international Zvjezdan Misimovic has turned down lucrative offers in Turkey because he only wants to continue his career in Germany.

Misimovic, who was born and raised in Germany and still has family there, said that it's more important for him to come back home than to take more money.

Since Misimovic is currently without a club after his lucrative contract with Guizhou ended last year, it's only a matter of time before the free kick specialist finds a new club.

Misimovic, who also recently retired from the Bosnian national team, could be called up by newly hired Bosnian coach Mehmed Bazdarevic if everything plays out just right. In order for him to earn back his spot back on the roster, however, Bazdarevic insisted that Misimovic would have to play regularly for his club, which is still a big if at this point.

Misimovic, who not only finished as the most capped Bosnian international ever with 83 games when he retired last year, is also second on the all time scoring list, with 25 goals to his repertoire.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-9161601687116682222015-01-07T16:14:00.004-08:002015-01-07T16:14:57.568-08:00Lulic ruled out for 4 weeks

Senad Lulic has been ruled out for about 40 days after getting injured in the 50th minute in Lazio's last match against Sampdoria.

Lulic, who added an assist in that 3-0 win, has injured his ankle, and will need several days of rest before he can play again.

Unfortunately for Bosnian fans, Lulic won't be able to suit up against Pjanic in the Rome derby this weekend, which is set to be a spectacle as always.

Fortunately for Bosnian fans, however, Bosnia doesn't have any scheduled games until the end of March, by which time Lulic, barring any setbacks, should be all ready to go.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-15227044358819068412015-01-07T08:58:00.001-08:002015-01-07T08:58:03.744-08:00Deni Milosevic and Dino Arslanagic ready to play for Bosnia

Cvijan Milosevic, the father of Standard Liege youngster Deni Milosevic, has come out and said that Deni only wants to represent Bosnia internationally.

Deni, who was born in Belgium but who's father was born in Tuzla, has previously stated that he has a strong desire to play for Bosnia.

Both Deni and Dino Arslanagic, another young Belgian-Bosnian who plays for Standard Liege, were invited to be guests in Innsbruck last year, where their parents held meetings with the Bosnian FA about possibly playing for Bosnia.

Since then, not much has materialized, until today, when former Sloboda Tuzla player Cvijan Milosevic announced that Deni only wants to play for Bosnia, before adding that his fellow club teammate Dino also has a strong desire to play for his homeland.

Dino, who apparently felt slighted when he wasn't considered by Susic for the 2014 World Cup, was thought to be a lost cause to Belgium.

Both Deni and Dino have yet to start officially switching their FIFA nationalities, but if they were to start as soon as today, they could very easily be in the U-21 and senior Bosnian squads, respectively, when qualifications return.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-19120019016617476712015-01-06T13:07:00.002-08:002015-01-13T17:03:28.893-08:00Ivan Martic and Milan Duric interest Bazdarevic

Serie A regulars Ivan Martic (Verona, RB) and Milan Duric (Cesena, ST) have most definitely been on newly appointed manager Mehmed Bazdarevic's radar as possible new call-ups.

Martic, who was born in Derventa, made a move last summer from the Swiss Super League into Serie A, and has been playing regularly for his new club.

The 24 year old defender has recently made it known that he is open to playing for Bosnia, while he is also eligible to represent Croatia & Switzerland.

Since Bosnia are relatively thin at the right back position with Mensur Mujdza injury prone and Avdija Vrsajevic more of a winger, Martic would add some much needed depth to our defense.

Duric, on the other hand, is a forward who has already represented Bosnia-Herzegovina, albeit on the youth level. Duric, who is most known to Bosnian fans for the hat trick he scored against a U-21 German side a couple of years ago, also plays regularly in the Serie A.

Under Susic, Bosnia only had two true strikers on the roster every game, which came back to haunt him during the Israel game as both of the strikers were injured. With a new manager, however, it seems time for Bosnia to finally bring in a 3rd striker who can come off the bench, and Duric definitely fits that bill.

Bazdarevic, who has recently said that he will soon travel to Italy to watch these two players in person, is definitely keeping his eye on two Serie A players.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-74467243675983130532015-01-06T12:55:00.003-08:002015-01-06T12:55:44.443-08:00Dzeko set to return from injury

Edin Dzeko is set to return for Manchester City for the weekend match against Everton after sitting out almost a month battling a calf injury.

The Bosnian captain, who has been fortunate enough to miss no extended amount of time due to injury in his career so far, was left sidelined after aggravating his calf muscle in early December.

After missing a vital game against Israel for Bosnia, Dzeko has relieved his international fans by only missing a month after what was once thought to be a more serious injury.

So far this season, Dzeko hasn't been able to keep up his form for the Citizens from late last season, as he has bagged only 5 goals in all competitions.

With Aguero injured, however, Edin will have every chance to redeem himself as he comes back from injury this weekend against Everton and fellow Bosnian Muhamed Besic.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5540987313713963573.post-31252545072891997022015-01-05T10:36:00.002-08:002015-01-05T10:39:13.617-08:00Tino-Sven Susic close to Inter move

After weeks of speculation, Tino-Sven Susic is close to securing a "dream" transfer from Hajduk Split to Inter.

Hajduk, who have made it no secret that they are willing to part ways with the talented Bosnian midfielder, have set a steep asking price of €5 million for his talents.

Inter are currently closest to securing his signature, with other smaller named clubs reportedly interested as well.

Susic, who is the nephew of former Bosnian national team coach Safet Susic, has been playing great for Hajduk so far this season, scoring five times and assisting the same number in 16 league and European matches.

In this past year, the 22 year old has also established himself as a regular on Bosnia's national team roster, even making the World Cup roster in Brazil.

"Until I sign I am not supposed to say much but I really wish for this transfer to come true, I would love to play for Inter," the young Bosnian stated.

"I have some other offers too so there is very little chance I will stay in Hajduk, but Inter are my favorites and the biggest club that is after me."

"This past year has been unbelievable for me, as I played in the World Cup, was Hajduk's best player and am now on the verge of a big transfer," Susic finished.

New manager Mehmed Bazdarevic has welcomed Misimovic's return to the Bosnian national team, who retired from international football after the World Cup last summer.

Since becoming manager, Bazdarevic hasn't been afraid to let it be known that no one is written off, even recently stating that Zvjezdan Misimovic, who is currently without a club after leaving China, would be welcome back.

"Misimovic never played an official 'retiring' match. I hope that he finds a club soon so that I can possibly use him in future teams. Why not make use of all the talents we have? If he's playing and has a club, I'll be the first to call him back up to the national team," said Bazdarevic.

Bazdarevic, who recently stated that it might be time to move away from some of the players who played under Blazevic and Susic, has a fine line to walk, as he still remains hopeful of qualifying to Euro 2016, while at the same time hopes to slowly start bringing in new names.

"I want to expand the available selection of players, not just for me, but for all future coaches of the national team. One this is clear - anyone, be it old names or new, has a chance to prove himself to me."

"I came into this job with one goal in mind, and that's to qualify for Euro 2016. We have to take it slow and go match by match, one result at a time."

"However, we can't put all of our focus on Euro 2016. We have to think about the future as well, and think about what young players can represent our national team at a future date. It is my job to qualify for the Euro in France, but it's also my job to build a foundation for the future," the Bosnian coach finished.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06180291715192375933noreply@blogger.com
