Begovic: I am honored to have even been considered for captain

Probably the most professional player in our national team, goalkeeper Asmir Begovic talked about the many things currently happening in his life to Bosnian website Dnevni Avaz.

On NBC Sports naming him one of the top 5 goalkeepers in the Premier League:

"It means a lot that they believe that, as those kinds of words are simply added motivation," the Stoke number 1 said.

On Stoke preparations:

"They're going very well. We've brought in several good players this summer (Krkic, Diouf) and we have high hopes for this season. I don't see why we can't make something happen and challenge for trophies this year.

On staying in Stoke despite transfer rumors:

"I am not the only one who decides whether I can leave or not. I cost too much, as the price Stoke put on me is a bit too much for other teams to consider buying me now. Regardless, I feel great in Stoke. I am playing in the best league in the world and people respect me here."

On being considered for captain of National Team:

"I am very happy because of that. The fans' support means a lot to me, but at the end of the day the manager makes the decision. Edin (Dzeko) as captain is very deserving. It's a great choice and we all stand behind it.  I am simply honored to have ever been considered for captain," the Bosnian finished.
