Arslanagic still undecided on national team

The young central defender has responded to inquiries about what national team he will play for, claiming he has yet to make up his mind.

Dino Arslanagic, who has represented nearly every Belgian youth national team, talked with Belgian media this afternoon about the possibility of playing for Bosnia in the future.

"For now, I won't play for either national team," the 21 year old stated. "I just want to focus on playing well for my club for the rest of the season, so we'll see what happens later on."

Arslanagic, who's parents originally hail from Bosnia, has been on Bosnia's radar for some time now. Last year, Dino, along with fellow Standard Liege teammate Deni Milosevic, were invited as guests for Bosnia's friendly in Innsbruck. Arslanagic, due to obligations for his club, was unable to make it, with his father Orhan making it instead.

Because his son couldn't be guaranteed a spot on the national team for the World Cup by then manager Safet Susic, Orhan went home without a guarantee that his son would play for Bosnia in the future. Instead, it is evident that Dino felt hurt by Susic's lack of interest, and talks have cooled off since.

This week, Bosnia's new manager Mehmed Bazdarevic announced that he has scheduled a meeting with both young Standard Liege players, Dino and Deni, in hopes of guiding the two to eventually choosing Bosnia.

While Deni Milosevic has yet to officially decide on a national team, his father Cvijan stated earlier in the week that his son's mind is pretty much made up, and that his heart only yearns for Bosnia. Belgian media also reported today that Milosevic already started the process of switching FIFA nationalities some time ago, but nothing is official yet.
